The internet is a wonderful source of knowledge and you can obtain a lot of the State and Federal Government information materials we make available at our Greenmount offices directly online.
You should note these three points, though:
1. Many of the State and Federal Government web servers we link to are less reliable than our own. This means that sometimes they may be temporarily unavailable. In such a case you should try again later.
2. Some State and Federal Government agencies periodically reorganise their web servers. This will break our link to a particular page of information they hold. In such a case we'll correct or remove the link as soon as we're aware of it (you can send us an email and tell us about it if you like!)
3. All links appear in new browser windows. This allows you to visit several sites quickly without leaving our own site. This can be helpful if you're looking for certain types of information or if you're not quite sure where it might be.
We add useful new links whenever we come across them . We also remove dead links as soon as we're advised of them.
In addition, we audit our links quarterly to ensure they stay as up-to-date for you as possible.

Adobe: Adobe are a very large US graphics software company who invented the Adobe PDF file format that's now widely used by Government and industry to distribute documents over the Internet. Cambooya Shire Council make extensive use of PDFs to distribute our documents online too. But in order to view PDF files you need to have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed in your browser. You can obtain this as a free download from Adobe's site.

Australian Electoral Commission: The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is the federal body responsible for the conduct of federal elections and by-elections; maintaining the Commonwealth Electoral Roll; and administering compulsory enrolment and compulsory voting. If you change your address you should contact the AEC (or the Electoral Commission of Queensland) to ensure that you remain correctly enrolled.

Department of Local Government, Planning, Sport and Recreation: The Queensland Department of Local Government, Planning, Sport and Recreation oversee the operations of all councils in Queensland (including Cambooya Shire Council). This Department audits our Shire's Annual Report before it's released each year. It also now acts as the central repository of each council's local laws and policies - and if you want to obtain copies of Cambooya Shire's local laws and policies this is where you can get them online.

Electoral Commission of Queensland: The Electoral Commission of Queensland is the State counterpart to the Australian Electoral Commission and is responsible for maintaining Queensland's electoral rolls and overseeing State elections. If you change your address you should contact the ECQ to ensure that you remain correctly enrolled.

Office of Economic and Statistical Research: The Queensland State Government's Office of Economic and Statistical Research is a State-based counterpart to the Australian Bureau of Statistics. It contains a wealth of up-to-date economic and statistical data on every region in Queensland and a great deal of the information it provides isn't available anywhere else. This is a very good source for researching current population figures, demographic profiles and related statistical information.

Queensland Land Registry Forms Online: The Department of Natural Resources and Mines makes copies of all Queensland Land Registry Forms available in Adobe PDF format on their web site. The forms can be printed out, completed on screen and then printed, or simply saved to a directory for future use.

Queensland Ombudsman: The Queensland Ombudsman is an independent complaints investigation agency. Its role is to ensure that public agencies (eg: State Government departments and bodies, and local councils) act fairly and make the right decisions for Queenslanders. If you’re concerned that a State agency or local council has made an unfair or incorrect decision about a matter that affects you, then the Ombudsman may be able to help.

Queensland's Laws Online: The Office of the Queensland Parliamentary Counsel's web site contains most Queensland laws in Adobe PDF format. You can quickly search for laws on the site by name or topic and print out hard copies if you need to. You can also obtain a weekly table of Queensland Legislation reprints; a weekly table of Subordinate Legislation as made; and weekly advices of bills introduced into Parliament and Acts passed.

WageNet: WageNet (formerly known as OSIRIS) is a searchable online database that contains the full text of all Australian Federal Awards, Agreements, Decisions, Variations and Decision Summaries from the Australian Industrial Relations Commission. It's maintained by the Federal Department of Workplace Relations.

Women's Infolink: A new team of Regional Coordinators has been appointed to help promote women's needs and encourage the delivery of women's services in Queensland. Cemetary/Genealogy Database: Genealogylinks.net consists of 4,300 pages of more than 50,000 Free Genealogy Links; for US, UK, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Europe, Canada, Australia & New Zealand.
